OSCARS 2025

(A.M.P.A.S./Disney/Hulu)

With the Oscars upon us this weekend, we want to highlight films that feature the two nominees who star in films from our Multicom library.

Both Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones are nominated for their roles in The Brutalist, a film about a visionary architect who comes to America to rebuild his life, his career, and his marriage. On his own in a strange new country, he settles in Pennsylvania, where a wealthy and prominent industrialist recognizes his talent. Felicity Jones is up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Adrien Brody is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Before The Brutalist, Adrien Brody starred in the 1997 film The Last Time I Committed Suicide. This film is about Neal Cassady living the beat life during the 1940s, working at The Tire Yard, and philandering around town. However, he envisions a happy life with kids and a white picket fence. When his girlfriend, Joan, tries to kill herself, he gets scared and runs away. However, when Joan reappears, will he take the chance at that happiness, or will he turn his back on it? Watch The Last Time I Committed Suicide on our YouTube channel!

Felicity Jones is featured in both The Worst Witch and Weirdsister College. The series The Worst Witch is about an accident-prone Mildred Hubble, the worst witch Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches has ever known. She can't ride her broomstick without crashing, her spells are always wrong, and even her cat isn't regulation black. But Mildred struggles until she gets on the wrong side of Miss Hardbroom and the spiteful teacher's pet, Ethel Hallow.

Jones is also featured in the series Weirdsister College, set a few years after The Worst Witch series; Mildred Hubble now attends the prestigious Weirdsister College in London. Mildred, her new friends, and even her former rival Ethel Hallow have a new set of magical hurdles to overcome in this new school. Throughout her first year, Mildred travels through time, encounters long-lost friends, and gets supercharged with magic.

As we prepare for the big night, there’s no better time to revisit these early performances from Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones. Whether you’re watching them in The Brutalist or rediscovering their earlier work, their talent is shown in every role.
