This 4th of July weekend,  TheArchive  invites you to celebrate heroes for independence with our Freedom Films Collection.   We kick off with Heroes Made in the USA . Join host Joe Namath as America's creamiest-of-the-crop heroes are spotlit and celebrated for their achievements and contributions to their communities. From unsung underdogs striving for the big win, to individuals who've overcome extreme obstacles in order to achieve greatness, this series showcases winners from all walks of life: those who exemplify what it means to be a champion. Juneteenth: Devotion to Freedom

Originally published June 19, 2020 and updated June 19th, 2023 Commemorating an American Hero. Frederick Douglass wrote a letter to Harriet Tubman and said the following: "The midnight sky and the silent stars have been the witnesses of your devotion to freedom and of your heroism…I know of no one who has willingly encountered more perils and hardships to serve our enslaved people than you have."   This Juneteenth we spotlight a story about an incredible American hero who changed the world.  TheArchive  proudly presents  A Woman Called Moses , a miniseries honoring the life of Harriett Tubman who summoned the strength and indomitable will to defy and overcome a tyrannous system. Debuting in 1978... A Woman Called Moses  was produced as a television miniseries and based on the life of Harriet Tubman, the escaped slave who organized the infamous Underground Railroad, ultimately leading scores from enslavement to freedom.

This 4th of July weekend, TheArchive spotlights independence by sharing several stories that commemorate choice and the freedom that privacy and decision can afford. Of course, we also include our classic Beyond the Mask : an action adventure filled with the battles that led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  We start with the story of a teenager's soul-searching after becoming emancipated from her family and joining a traveling carnival.  Freedom stars Mare Winningham and features six songs that Janis Ian wrote for her to perform in the movie.
