This 4th of July weekend, TheArchive invites you to celebrate heroes for independence with our Freedom Films Collection.
We kick off with Heroes Made in the USA. Join host Joe Namath as America's creamiest-of-the-crop heroes are spotlit and celebrated for their achievements and contributions to their communities. From unsung underdogs striving for the big win, to individuals who've overcome extreme obstacles in order to achieve greatness, this series showcases winners from all walks of life: those who exemplify what it means to be a champion. We hear from American heroes like Joe Namath, Caitlyn Jenner, Mike Tyson, Cesar Chavez, and Wilt Chamberlain.
Freedom is the story of a teenager's soul-searching after becoming emancipated from her family and joining a traveling carnival. Freedom stars Mare Winningham and features six songs that Janis Ian wrote for her to perform in the movie. Four time emmy winner and director of Taking of Pelham One Two Three Joe Sargent, helmed. Jennifer Warren, Tony Bill, Peter Horton, and Taylor Negron also star.
For Their Own Good finds Factory worker Sally Wheeler receiving an ultimatum from her employer: she must agree to be sterilized or she will be fired. Now Sally and her coworkers must enter a bitter trial to fight back. Elizabeth Perkins, Colleen Camp, and Laura San Giacomo star.
Beyond the Mask is
an action adventure filled with the battles that led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
In beautiful 4K, this action-packed adventure set in 1776 during the turmoil of the Revolutionary war, bringing history to life in a story filled with liberty, freedom, and faith.
Based on true events, the film features action, battles, and suspense, leading up to the historic signing of the Declaration of Independence.
While researching Beyond the Mask and other war movies, we realized that Hollywood hasn't paid as much attention to the Revolutionary War as one would expect. Perhaps now is no better time to pay close attention to the value of independence.
As we’ve shared in the past, apart from Al Pacino's 1985 film Revolution, the Academy Award-nominated 1776, Cary Grant's The Howard's of Virginia, and Abbott & Costello's The Time of Their Lives, there's not a lot to watch.
Dynamic battles, personal skirmishes, sword fights, romance, and gorgeous set pieces are all safe for families: a recipient of the Dove Seal of approval for ages 12 and older.
So before or after the fireworks check out Beyond the Mask and celebrate the independence and freedom we fought so hard to win and preserve.
