Kirstie Alley: TheArchive Remembers
Kirstie Alley, two-time Emmy winner (Cheers) and one of the biggest stars in 1980s and 90s comedy (and one of the TheArchive's favorites) has passed after a battle with cancer. She was 71.
TheArchive has a couple great films starring Kirstie. One is the original version of Blonde long before Netflix's. It's sexy, timeless, and gets better reviews. It has an amazing cast including Poppy Montgomery as Marilyn, Patricia Richardson, Patrick Dempsey, Wallace Shawn, Griffin Dunne, Emily Browning, Jensen Ackles, Ann-Margret, and of course the late Kirstie Alley who played "Aunt Grace" one of the most influential women in young Norma Jeane's young life and who was at one point her legal guardian.
Check out this slice of comedy nostalgia. A year before they starred in the cult hit "Summer School," Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley showed their romantic comedy chemistry in Prince of Bel-Air.
TheArchive takes a moment to celebrate an iconoclast who has left us too soon. Enjoy these lost gems and pour one out for Kirstie Alley!
